Berry Global required an educational technology hub at their centre in Spain to visually demonstrate how the company is revolutionising re-usable plastics.
The goal was to provide an informative and visually compelling experience for visiting businesses. Using immersive technology we devised a number of interactive installations that were both fun and functional to create a lasting memory of Berry's work.
A series of workshops were implemented to inform the installation journey and narrative, this involved research and knowlege sessions with the client, utilising Miro and wireframed processes against testing and technology feasability for each. The sessions helped to form direction and decide how best to deliver the clients desired outcome for each experience.
The first visual task from here was to develop a brand for the overall hub that was in keeping with Berry’s existing identity. Utilising the existing typefaces and colour palette, I designed the sub brand to convey and reflect the hubs goals and targets, giving the experience a unique and impactful visual presence that could sit within Berry’s existing framework and be applied to the new one. Berry’s Global brand team then fine tuned elements to work with the hub.
The sub brand had to function within a darker environment primarily using screens and subtle lighting, therefore the palette was focused more into the mid to dark range using bright colours as highlights and primary interface elements. Typefaces were tested thoroughly for legibility across numerous screens, mixed reality and projection scenarios. The ongoing motif of circular shapes was used throughout the identity, shaping the narrative of a circular economy.
Once the experiences were fully researched, wireframed and tested, I worked alongside the development teams to direct and apply the visual style guide to all of the interfaces for the experiences. Each was tested extensively to meet accessiblity and usage requirements.
The user experiences ranged from auto activated touch screens that came alive via Near Field Communication when a Berry product was placed in range, to communal quiz games that utilised projection and infra red motion detection relaying real time feedback. Other installations included a custom A.i. LLM based on Berry’s plastic production products and processes, to an educational mixed reality headset experience showcasing the production process of recycling plastics.
The Innovation Hub is now showcasing Berry’s sustainability innovations to clients including L’Oréal, M&S, Heinz and McDonald’s, as well as to internal teams and local community groups. The space has received glowing feedback from the board and visitors alike.
For their latest Clavinova digital piano line, Yamaha Music Europe needed a way to showcase design, scale and sound – beyond physical showrooms.
I led the creative and user experience for the interactive tool letting customers explore Clavinovas’ size, sound, and finishes at home or in dealerships, with multi-language support and privacy-safe marketing insights.
After defining client requirements and technical scope, I designed the user journey, created functional prototypes, and presented wireframes and walk-throughs to test ideas, present to the client, gather feedback, and produce development-ready interface assets.
Once testing results and feedback were integrated, I collaborated with development and 3D teams to apply Yamaha’s brand visual styling to the product.
A key UX challenge was educting users to use AR through minimal, icon-based depictions that worked across languages, achieved with animated visual instructions.
Since its launch, the Clavinova Space AR app has been downloaded over 12,000 times, earning five-star feedback. Users praise the app’s realism, placing pianos in their rooms, hearing sound, changing finishes and find it invaluable for comparing models without visiting a store.
As head of Design at Infinite form I led all brand direction for the company and its products, which included travel apps, VR gaming installations and bespoke training services.
Working with multiple senior stakeholders and business interests in the company, my role would often involve gathering research, insights and market analysis to inform product and brand positioning.
Creating a brand that reflected the nature of an immersive company required a unique approach. I researched and tested multiple 3D, code, and motion experiments to explore the combination of the organic and technical.
Combining the outcome of the research and experimental phase informed the final branding, capturing the essence of creative excellence with technical expertise.
The brand relaunch succeeded by pairing innovative technology with bold creative storytelling, transforming the company’s identity into a compelling, future-focused experience that clearly differentiated it from competitors.
Redwings Horse sanctuary required multiple creative and technical services to help support their campaigns focused on the welfare and rescue of Horses. This involved delivering marketing & social assets, event launches and apps for their varying activities.
I was involved in the production of a short animated story voiced by Stephen Fry to boost awareness. My role was to create the look and feel of the animation for the storyboard artists to work from.
Once the storyboard was completed I translated the 3D prototypes into finalised art. This was done using Artificial Intelligence systems to turn prototyped 3D frames into full art, dramatically optimising the creative process and delivery time.
Anna Sewell was the writer of the best selling Black Beauty book. I worked with Redwings to create an educational app and wall mural to explain the timellne of horse welfare. This was launched in conjunction with the opening event inside Anna Sewell's house in Great Yarmouth.
As the building was not always fully staffed, visitors could use a tablet to scan elements of the wall mural to open up self guides and rich content.
I was involved in conceptualising various campaigns for visitors to the Redwings Horse Sanctuary, the key goal to leverage the efforts and activities of employees at Redwings into further social engagement and educational value.
